  1. How do I scan for the Power Pong robot?

Android
Ensure that both your device's location service and Bluetooth are turned on. When opening the app for the first time, you should be prompted for location permissions.  You will need to accept these permissions for the app to be able to connect to the robot.
iOS
Make sure your Bluetooth is turned on and the app is granted Bluetooth permissions.
Once you've checked these, position yourself reasonably close to the Power Pong robot. Navigate to the Connection page and the application should automatically scan for nearby devices. If the scan doesn't start automatically, you can manually initiate a rescan.

  1. How do I connect to the Power Pong robot?

After you've scanned for the robot and it appears on the list of available devices on the Connection page, tap on the device listing to initiate the connection process. Your device will then connect to the robot.

  1. How do I update the firmware for my Power Pong robot?

Once you've connected to the robot, you'll find the current connection panel at the top of the Connection page within the Power Pong app. Expand this panel to view the current firmware version of your Power Pong robot.
If a newer firmware version is available, you will see a green 'Update' button. Tap on it to start the update process. Please ensure that you allow the update process to finish completely before disconnecting your phone or shutting off the robot.

  1. Calibration – All robots come calibrated, so rarely need to calibrate.

To check if your robot needs calibration go to drills and type in test in the search and select test 1. Start the drill and check if the balls are landing around the middle and about 16 inches from the end of the table. If yes, go to test 2 and check if the balls are landing evenly on both sides. If yes go to test 3 and set serves at zero backspin, 5 sidespin and 10 or 11 speed to test if the serves are clearing the net.
For the best experience you need to learn how to set up your own drills and change or modify existing drills
For robots that do need calibration, please follow these steps:
Start calibration mode and check where the ball is landing.
Adjust the trajectory/speed until it is landing a few inches from the end of the table with the desired arc. Generally, you only need to adjust the trajectory but speed can also be adjusted if the trajectory adjustment is not sufficient.  Once normal calibration is finished, you can start "Trajectory Correction".  If one side of the table is firing shorter than the other, select that side to increase the distance.
If it's still short, you can further increase the distance by selecting "Additional Distance". Save the calibration.

  1. What is the serve feature?

The first two balls in a drill can be set as a “serve”. Doing so will add a 1 second delay to the serve and will randomly select one of the two balls to play.

  1. What is the Shuffle feature?

Random plays the balls in a random order (same as before).
Shuffle placement will randomly swap the placement values for each ball in the drill.

  1. What is Scatter?

Scatter will add more variability to the trajectory and placement.

  1. What is E1 error?

E1- Represents feeding motor related issues.
It could be a broken ball inside, or dog hair wrapped around the feeding motor, or something   else inside that causes the feeding motor problem.
It also could be a dent on the tube of the head of the robot that does not allow the balls to go through.
Do the following:
1. Unplug from power
2. Loosen the knob holding the tube under the head of the robot, pull it out, and unplug the cable
3. Empty the robot from all balls
5. Place the head of the robot on the table, close to the base unit and plug it back again.
6. Plug it into power and connect the app.
7. Type in test in the search and select test 1.
8. Start it and check the springs that moving the balls around to make sure it moves in one direction only and not forward and backward.
It’s good if it’s moving in one direction only.
If it’s not moving or moving forward and backward then you would need to remove the top to find out the reason it’s stuck.

  1. What is E2 error?

E2- Represents a connecting cable issue 99% of the time. Very rarely it may also represent a bad motor in the head of the robot.
             Do this:

  1. Unplug from power
  2. Unplug the cable that connects the head of the robot with the base unit.
  3. Check the pins inside the cable connecting the head of the robot with the base unit to make sure nothing is bent or broken.
  4. If it looks good, plug it back and make sure it’s plugged in all the way.
  5. Connect to power and check to make sure all the 3 wheels are spinning.
  6. If yes, connect the app and it should be good to go.

  1. What should I do if my robot is double-shooting?

Align the 2nd or 3rd silver circle on the tube with the top of the base unit and that should take care of the problem.
