The Great Commission

Bible Passages from Matthew and Titus

Matthew 28:18-20And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Easter Sunday

Jesus' Death and Resurrection

The purpose in Jesus coming to earth was to die for our sins, to pay the price that we deserved to pay.  His death and resurrection didn't take him by surprise.  As recorded in 3 of the Gospel accounts, Jesus predicted his death and resurrection.

Matthew 17:22   Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men,  and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.” And they were exceedingly sorrowful.

Luke 10:25-37
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and‘your neighbor as yourself.’”

The Greatest Commandment

Mark 12:30-31
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no commandment greater than these.”

Choosing Friends / Choosing Words

Bible Verse of the Week

In table tennis, who are your friends and practice partners that you hang out with?  Are they negative, controversial troublemakers?  The Bible says that you will be like your companions.
Proverbs 13:20  He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools with suffer harm.

Your First Love

Bible Verse of the Week

1 John 2:15-17Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Starting 2015...

Bible verse of the week... 1 Peter 5:6-7

1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Throughout the Christian life we need to stay humble…
Humble realizing our sin.
Humble realizing who we are and who God is.
Humble realizing our salvation in Christ.
Humble realizing that we so easily stray and we need God’s help each and every moment.

Our Example to Follow

Bible Verses of the Week

Christ is the ultimate example of true humility.  He humbled himself to being willing to die a criminal's death on the cross to pay for my sin.

Psalm of the Week

My Heart's Desire

Psalm 27:4   One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.
