The Bible

Matthew 22:29

It is very sad for me to see many people inside the church and many people outside the church who don’t know the Bible; also, many that know it don’t believe it to be the Word of God.  How does doctrinal error begin?

We see from the Bible that the Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection – did not believe in heaven, did not believe in hell.  How did they develop this faulty belief?  Jesus tells them in
Matthew 22:29  Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.”  They developed this wrong belief because they did not know the Scriptures nor the power of God.

So, I’m encouraging you friends to open up your Bibles today.  Read it, meet with God, pray that God would open up your eyes to see and believe the truth.  If we don’t believe the Bible, what else do we have?  We have our own wicked, deceitful hearts.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked

Psalm 11:3 says – If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?  Satan knows the importance on our foundation, the truth of the Word of God.  From the very beginning (Genesis 3:1), Satan attacked the truthfulness of God’s Word.  His first deception is still prevalent today, “Did God REALLY say…?”  Satan is still deceiving many outside the church, and sadly, he is deceiving many professing believers within the church with his attacks on the Word of God.

Did God really say that He created the world in 6 days?
Did God really say that there was a world-wide flood?
Did God really say that marriage was to be a man and a woman?
Did God really say that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life?
Did God really say that there is a heaven and a hell?
Did God really say that there is going to be a day of judgement?

So how can we avoid being foolish?  How can we learn to embrace the Scriptures?  Jesus gives us the answer in Luke 24: 25-27  Then He said to them, “Oh foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!  Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?  And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

Throughout His ministry, that is what Jesus did.  Jesus expounded the Scriptures.  I just beg you today to follow the Scriptures.  Don’t follow after your own desires, don’t follow after this wicked world, don’t listen to Satan.  Listen to the inspired Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Romans 10:17
So then faith comes be hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
