The Good News of Jesus Christ - Part 8

Who Are You Serving?

Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve God and money.

In the Bible passage, Jesus clearly tells us that we can only have 1 God in our lives.  God doesn’t want a rival with our time, our emotions, our desires, our energy, and our focus.
We cannot serve God and table tennis
We cannot serve God and our job
We cannot serve God and our stuff

For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 1 Timothy 4:8

Bible Verses of the Week

Mark 8:34-36

Mark 8:34-36
When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"

If the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy never produces a world champion or Olympic Gold medalist... But the Gospel goes out into the whole world and disciples are being made, I can say that my job is complete.

Learn What God Wants From You!

Psalm 51:6b Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being
Many people today tell me that they follow God by going to church or praying or being nice.  Those are great things.  However, God is primarily concerned with the heart.  The Bible says that man’s heart is deceitful and desperately wicked.  Even though we might live externally good lives (according to what society tells us), we were born with sinful hearts.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

1 Samuel 16:7 Man looks on the outside, but God looks at the heart.

Throughout this blog, I will be quoting the Bible and then commenting on it.
Many people ask me why I read the Bible, pray, go to church, follow after God, and share the Gospel with others.  That’s a good question!

John 20:31 says, “These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”
